(The next few days will be small drawings as I’m going to be pretty busy preparing for the Gladstone show this week)
I’m still not sure if I’m finished with this one yet.

Here she is…
And let’s take a little look up close, shall we?
Behold my enthusiasm, with only half an hour to spare!
I’m finished my triptych of smaller drawings – on to my larger piece!
The boy enters the woods and comes across three squirrels.

The squirrels take the child’s eyes in exchange for their loot, leaving him blind but happy.

Oh, look! It’s my studio!
Oh, look! Some felted woodland creatures!
Today was my first full day at my sweet little residency in Picton (I ended up arriving late last night due to a brief bout of sickness and sadly had to take the Greyhound instead of the train). The town is sweet, the studio managers are sweet, and I get a bright little space to work all day.
My first task is to complete a triptych for an upcoming show at the Gladstone Hotel in a few weeks. I’m drawing a sequence of images based on a fairy tale where three squirrels take the eyes of a little boy. Each drawing will measure 14″x17″, and when I’m done all three of ‘em, I’m going to switch to something large (that will require stretching out on the floor)!
Anyway, panel one of the triptych is complete. I apologize for the poor image quality. That’s why you have to come see it in person!
It’s hard to tell, but there’s little white drawings of various objects trailing behind the little boy.
